Kent and Medway Rural Youth Ideas Hack Open for Applications

The Rural Youth Project, supported by Kent County Council, are offering young people who live in Kent and Medway, the opportunity to attend the 2022 Kent and Medway Rural Youth Ideas Event!

Responding to the impact of CoVID-19 on local growers, the event will provide 30 people, aged 18 to 30 yrs, an opportunity to explore, from a young person’s perspective, what the fresh food/horticultural sector has to offer regarding employment in Kent and Medway, including job opportunities, business ideas and creation, career potential or simply a deeper understanding from where fresh food comes from.

Alongside the activities for delegates, employers and businesses within the industry will learn how to re-imagine what the future could look like for the sector and, critically, how to appeal to young people, creating potential employment opportunities, providing the opportunity for growers and young people to come together to talk about what the future could look like for the sector and improving its appeal.
